#Esse izula upgrade
Esee brand sheath is supremely good quality, no need to upgrade to kydex/ clip is very strong. I think closer to a belt knife than neck knife size to me. Was worried about size being too small, I have large hands and it fits my hand nicely. Textured coating seems tough, similar to rhino-liner. Finish is flawless, no gap between scales and knife spine. Not too bright ,good contrast with beige micarta scales. Like the vicious bullet ant the ESEE Izula is small, but large in terms of impact. ESEE named the Izula after the notorious bullet ant from the Amazon jungle.

Now to put the knife to the test and see how many ferro and magnesium rod handles it will fabricate by hand carving them this week. If anything the no questioned asked replacement warranty is worth the cost.

I wished I purchased one years ago and already have my next ESEE knife picked out, or two.

the sheath is rock solid and there is absolutely no play of the blade while sheathed. After taking the knife to my strop it was sharp enough to shave with, impressive! The subtle green scales with the emergency orange go great together and good luck loosing it out in the field, BRIGHT! The Izula feels great in hand and feels very stout for such a small knife. The handle length fills my large hand giving me complete control of the knife and the jimping is very subtle on the spine. The micarta handles have an amazing feel and grip about them and feel so good in the hand.
#Esse izula trial
I have been looking at ESEE knifes for years now and finally decided to get this one first, as a trial run. You really can not judge a knife by its looks or what you my think it' s going to be like. 550" Diameter Hole To Accommodate Carabiner Weight: 3.2 Ounces (Knife & Handles Only). If you break it, just send the broken knife back to ESEE for a replacement. As with all ESEE Knives, the all IZULAS are backed by the famous ESEE no questions asked lifetime warranty. After numerous survival trips and expeditions to the Amazon jungles of Peru, Jeff Randall and Mike Perrin designed the Izula to be the perfect survival kit or concealed carry knife. The Bullet Ant is known to be independent, tough, light on its feet, and a real aggressive survivor. The folks at Randall's Adventure & Training know it as the Bullet Ant. The locals in the Amazon call the meanest, most aggressive ant in the jungle Isula (spelled with an s). It’s based off of a $300 Graham knife, but built more affordably by CRKT, featuring a chisel-shaped double edged blade.ESEE Izula II, Orange, (Knifeworks Exclusive), Molded Sheath The current price on Amazon is like $55, but as soon as this comes back down to $35ish, I’ll be picking one up!ītw, another awesome small fixed blade, though not a necker, that I recently got my hands on was the CRKT Stubby Razel. The big differentiator for the Izula was always that the handle was so much more comfortable, but the Becker has a slightly thicker/better blade. I’ve been wanting to try the micarta scales for it, but have a hard time getting over the fact that they cost as much as the knife itself. This is so awesome! I actually bought a Becker necker last fall before a camping trip, and I love it! But, admittedly the handle ergonomics aren’t great, even for my small hands. Really, I didn’t think it was possible that they would combine the favorable parts of 2 designs into one EPIC knife.
